Mythology and Religion. Is there a Connection???
I've read and researched this subject: "The Phoenix and The Lily of the Valley" for years now. Only until within the passed Five years have I finally come to realise the truth of the supernatural,Religions Groups, Mythology, Afterlife, and so forth... Sometimes the truth of things may be stranger than fiction. And sometimes what we all may actually believe to be Non-Fiction, may actually be Fiction instead. I and gonna post a website on here, and would like to invite everyone who desides to join this particular Blog to go to this website www.sylv.com and read the contents, being two online books free to the public to read, but with the option to purchase them as well. I ask you all to read these Two books first, before commenting, and discussing this Blog? Once you read these books. You'll be able to openly answer my question: Is ther a connection between Religion and Mythology? or Are they both the same in one? Do all events in our history eventually become Legends or Mythologies in future generations to come? These are very deeply rooted questions, and the answers aren't always so easily found, and I warn you all. You may find out that you've all been overlooking the answers to these type of questions. The books are called; " Innuendoes" and "The Vortex of Lost Souls." They center around The Bible, Religion,Mythology,Rock -N- Roll Music,Freddie Mercury and Queen,Revelations,Armageddon,The Dragon,Lily,Mind Traveling{Dreams},The Afterlife,Spirituality,Zoroastrainism, and many more interesting things to discuss on here. And yes, it discusses all the main Religious groups like Christianity,Muslims,Cathlics, and whatever else. So I urge everyone to come and check out this website. www.sylv.com It discusses the Living Stone of the Holy Bible. The real story behind the music of Freddie Mercury and Queen. The truth behind songs like Bohemian Rhapsody,Somebody To Love,We Will Rock You,Crazy Little Thing Called Love,We are The Champions and Stone Cold Crazy ,etc...etc... Also, other non-Queen songs from other Bands. Like Mr Roboto by Styx, and Enter Sandman by Metallica, and American Pie. You'll read all about the real concept behind Queen and Freddie Mercury's musical career. I must also tell you that there's alot of topics in these books that are very controvercial, and there has been alot of research done before they were written, and Queen knew about them way before they were written. So there's no fraud going on here or anything. These books are easily proven as factual. All you have to do is read them, follow the clues, and research the story out for yourselves, and discuss it with me and each other on this unique Blog of mine. Please read them with an open mind. If you're Native American Indians? This ought to be an interest of yours as well. So I ask you Native Americans especially the Story Tellers, and Shamen or Holy Men. To read these books as well, because there's a brief mentioning in the Innuendoes book about us as well. I'm Cherokee and Irish decent. I am always in contact with the Author of these books. Her name is Sylv. Livingstone. Perhaps, the "living stone' in the Holy Bible is a Livingstone that bleeds just like you and I?Huh So maybe all of you Lilith Cult and Wiccans should read these books too? Perhaps you all could benifit from what all you read. Athiests you too could read these books. Perhaps, you could use a refreshioning of faith in the one that which you deny. You're discussed in The Vortex of Lost Souls. All of you of "Alternative Lifestyles" {you know who you are}could read this website too, and the books that are there for everyone to read. Freddie Mercury wanted the truth to be told and known. Otherwise, he would never have written and performed the songs and shows. He was Bisexual wasn't he? So yeah!!! Alternative Lifestyles are more than welcome to read these books. There is nothing bad or directed negative about your preferences. So don't worry. But the subject of Homosexuality is mentioned in Innuendoes, and it was a big controversy in the Press because of Freddie Mercury. So it played an enormous part in the concept of Queen's music, and live shows. Religions downgrade it. But it's not downgraded in these two books. Anyway, I hope you read these websties and I hope to get alot of people to join my Blog. I plan to continue to post these type of Blogs in the future, just as long as this one takes off well? It's up to all of you though....So come on now; My Space....I'm ready for some open discussions on my page!!!! www.sylv.com Read it Please. Keep an open mind. P.S. Just like Freddie Mercury said: "Don't Get Fried" Read the website and you'll understand just what he meant.

Good first post. Welcome to CrapolaRex. Interesting website. I'll give those books a look when I have more time. Without reading the books I'd have to say yes, there is a connection between mythology and religion. Alot of the old mythology deals with Gods and Demi-Gods. Interesting stuff. smile

Thank you very much for your quick response there!!! I agree that there's a connection with mythology and Religion. Everything that was a Legend or a Myth had to dirrive from a significent scourse if you really give it a thought. I believe you're saved by faith and faith alone. Just as long as you know where to balance the fine line between Good and Evil. Which happens to be an extremely fine line between the two powerful forces. I'm sure that you agree. But you cannot sway too far into either one of the sides, because if you're too good  or, too evil. It's not good to have too much of anything. So you have to keep it balanced out as much as possible.  Thank you for your compliment on my first posting. I appreciate it and promise more postings similar to this one. In the future. I hope to hear more from you too? Have a good night.

And, you're correct. Everything that has ever happened in the courses of History has in fact, become either a legend or a myth over time. Hasn't it? Look at the Trojan War for example!!! It happened! But now it's a Myth. The same thing with the great flood in the Bible. We know it did indeed occur. Ovid had written about it. Of course, I don't know who had written about the Noah's Ark version of the flood. But we do know about the flood's occurance in the course of this world's existance. I'm certain that if this world still remains in existance for another Thousand or more years? That our own existances may eventually become a myth. Do you think so? Still read these books and see what else you could think of to add to this topic. I think this is a very interesting subject. I always have thought so. The thing is that we all are not from Adam and Eve. I don't believe so. I think that there were more than just one couple in that era that helped to populate this earth with Mankind. Since there's so much evli left in the world. Who's to really know for sure? If there really was an Adam or Eve. Because, all proof of anything prior to the flood in the Bible, and any other Holy book, will tell you that everything created before the great flood was destroyed. So where would all of the proof of Adam and Eve actually be? I believe they possibly could have existed. But I also believe that Lilith could have existed too. Even prior to Eve. If people are so into forcing the belief of Adam and Eve. Then who's to really deny the possibility of Lillith{Lily} in the Bible as well? Think about it? All of you. Think about it.I may actually try to post some sample pages of these books on here. Just to really get more of the attention of the public on this site. I want to really grab people on here. There's alot of information that very few people really know about Religeon and The Bible's in every belief. So far, the only real truth in any Religeon. Is the primary Theme of the battles of the main two forces----------Good--------And_------------Evil.  We got GOD and The Devil. We got Arihiman and Ahura. Which is spoke about in these two books on that www.sylv.com website I posted on here.So I will be posting a few things here, or at leate try to. Keep on checking back okay? Thank you for your peply. shake hands

P.S. Another thing that I wish to point aout is: Just because something is a Myth. Doesn't mean that it never happened. Keep that in mind. We all believe in Jesus Christ. Yet, were we there? No. But we all know that he's real. Right? But, how do we know? If he hasn't already been back, and is already gone? The proof is out there. But what if everyone has  been looking in the wrong directions for all these years? Read these books. You might { I'm sure that you will} find out some very interesting facts. That you never really knew. I did. But I'll talk more on it. Once, I know people have read the books. Plus, I'll be posting some examples of these books on here. This is Philosophy and Religeon, isn't it? Aren't we supposed to be finding the proof of the truth?  www.sylv.com  It's all in there.

I find it really hard to follow your logic - or to find two connected sentences which are not laced with half-truths and obscurity, for that matter. What, exactly and concisely, is your point?

Maybe I'm just retarded right now, but it's kinda hard to read what you are saying when it's lumped in one huge paragraph. confused I'll try again in the morning when my brain is a bit more awake.

I guess this is as good as any topic for me to join up with.  I think that this is an interesting topic.  Mainly due to the fact that so many religious stories overlap with current myth stories.

Referenced earlier was the Christian story of the flood.  What I find interesting is how often you can find this same story among other religions and other myths.  In the Kalavala.  Even in the story of Gilgamesh, a story that pre-dates the Christian bible, has a flood story.

What a lot of people don’t know is that there are many themed styles of writing that particularly relate to the time period that they were written.  For instance, take the Revelations portion of the Christian bible.  An interesting, little known fact, is that Armageddon storylines were very popular at that point in history.  There are actually 11+ versions of the book of Revelations, but only one made it in to the final copy.

The point is this: when considering religion as it relates to myth, they are common in that they tell a story about something unexplained.  It’s dangerous, however, when myth and religion becomes fact without proof.  We believe in the battle of Troy (as referenced above) because someone wrote about it.  Is it fair to say (as referenced above) that in 1000 years, if someone gets a hold of Crichton’s “Prey” or “Next,” someone will believe a cloud of nanoprobes brought havoc on us?

A few other things about "Revelations". It was written about the Roman Empire and 666 is Nero.

Almost all Christain holy days were planed to coinside with Pegan feast days that were already on the calander.

two cents I'm probably one of the most skeptical people in the world when it comes to new info. I believe anything I want when it is convenient for my argument. I'll admit it. It's human nature. But overcoming it is part of growing up and I believe I have come into that stage of enlightenment.

BUT!

I don't believe what people say about the Bible and other historic events, EVER! I believe that not everyone comes into the formal stages of elightenment and begin to understand and accept what is not always convenient. I believe that most people in fact don't fully enter this. Me probably being one of them.

This being said, I don't believe what people say about the Bible (such as the bit about Nero 666 or the 11+ Revelation versions or that Jesus lured children into his tent with candy and molested them) not because it is not convenient for my argument (because I don't have an argument), but because of the way people work and how the information that you put forward is what you have been told and you agree with because it suited your argument. Are you getting me? I'm not going to believe what people say because I believe that they are saying it because they believe it wrongly. They only believe it because they were told by someone that they agreed with who they themselves may have been told false info by the same chain of events.

Call me crazy if you must. (*TANGENT ALERT* In fact, being called crazy could be miscontrude as a compliment. Some of the greatest people in the world have been called crazy at some time or another. After all, people who have been through an insane assylum get a paper when they get out saying that they are indeed sane. Which is something that none of us here have.  wink ) That's the way my skeptical mind works. I only believe what I'm told if the person saying it was actually there at the event or can give me proof that the information they are relaying is not tainted by time or lies. (As in a detailed record with plausible references, maybe even a mocha-frappiccino and a nice bedtime story to go with it.)

But Magnum, you believe in God and there is no evidence of him. Well, #1 Look around you, there is proof of his existance everywhere in my mind. The fact that we exists proves that to me. But #2 is that God is not tainted, he is pure truth.

But Magnum, you only believe in God because that is what the Bible tells you, and it could (and probably is) be full of corruption and exaggeration made of lies made up by people over time. Yes! That would be true, except that is not why I believe in God! I believe in a Divine Creator beause I feel a connection with him and his works. When I look at people I love I can see the fingerprints of God. *cue soft symphonic music* This is why I believe. Not because some book told me so. That instigated it, but when I set out to find out for myself what is true and what is false, I found God to be true through my own experiences.

So, does anyone have any proof of what they are saying? Because if you do, I would very much like to hear it so I can believe you. smile No sarcasm intended, I really would like to know the truth. I just need a little more than some statements.

Pardon my rant. It runs in the family.  happy

*Edit: Just fixing some grammar mistakes.

Well, some people are sure there is evidence the world is flat, that doesnt mean their right.

Some people are certain that many things that are not real exist. This is why personal experience cant be counted on as real evidence. We need testable evidence for it to be considered true.

Lol, that's more of a metaphysical argument. Whereas epistemological arguments such as Christianity and God are generally a little more deep. Well, that's what I think atleast.

True. However if everyone experienced a similar personal, intangible experience, would you not agree that it would have a similar source?
