Went to the Dr. today because ive been sicker than shit (we pay a small, mandatory fee for campus health services) and turns out i have a bad bacterial infection.

Seeing how I dont have insurance, I dont get to have the medicine that actually works the best. But i get stuck with the second rate bullshit that 'hopefully' works.

This is my health, and this is my life. The only one I have. And my health and life are not as important as those who can afford to pay. Im so sick of this shit. I saw it first hand watching my mom die with cancer and I see it repeating with me.

Clinton, Schumer and Walsh are getting an angry letter tomorrow.

Hope you get better over the weekend.

I need the weekend to heal pyschologically. I don't think I've had 2 days off in a row since surgery in March.

Blown disk. It had been herniated about 3 years ago but went away. Since then, weight gain and loss along with different jobs and duties broke it down since then. Still fighting the worker's comp people. Should be settling soon.

Wow, same thing happened to me. I had have a blown disc. It paralyzed my foot for about 3 months but going to the gym and taking 4 months out of work helped with that. But since then I lost my insurance (that i had for a whole 3 months) and cant afford the surgery to remove it.

Best of luck to ya.

Got the same deal here.  Every time I go to the doctor, he'll say something like:

"I'd like to prescribe you this pill that will cure you almost overnight, but your insurance only covers the leeches."

Second class citizens do better than this.  Health care in the United States is third-fucking-world.  you have to go to Sudan to be treated worse than this.

I'm sure you saw that movie.  The one where they went to Cuba, and got free health care for the 9/11 rescue workers who were ill from the toxins at ground zero.  The ones whose treatment our government refused to cover.  That's how we treat our heros.  Remember that shit before you go gushing over Rudy G.  He couldn't get the people who cleaned up ground zero medical treatment.  They had to go to Cuba to be treated.

Yeah.  As in missile crisis Cuba.

Well...  If you didn't see that movie, you should.  I'd like to see the look on your face when you learn about the system they have in France.  I won't ruin it for you, but I'm seriously considering applying for citizenship.  Except that I'd have to learn to speak french.

The guy is a douche, but he makes an effective point.  He might even be stretching the case.  But no doubt American health care is shit.

Not to spite you guys or anything, but...

I've got CF and I gotta go to the doc every couple of months and the government pays for pretty much all of it. Same with my loads of meds.

Yay for Australian healthcare.  australian flag
